How Little Tigers Can Have Fun at Reunions!

 
Parents have several options for children's activities at Reunions. The children's activities are planned to entertain all ages. First is TigerCamp, a supervised program requiring registration ahead of time. Second are the class-sponsored activities that are not supervised childcare.  Here are the quick details:
  • TigerCamp:  Friday and Saturday nights (6 p.m - midnight) for children 3 months to 12 years.  Register directly with the YWCA of Princeton. See additional information provided at the bottom of this page.
  • Craft Tables: During the day throughout the weekend craft tables will be open. Stations will include Jersey Shore Shell Art and other crafts, playing cards and board games. Parents are encouraged to participate.  (We are still finalizing the specific crafts and games.) In the courtyard in front of 1937 Hall.
  • Computer Cluster:  Throughout the weekend a computer cluster with internet access and printers will be open to all.  In first floor of 1937 Hall.
  • Carnival: Inflatables and games including gladiator ring, football throw, velcro wall, large slide, moon walk and more. Friday 2PM to dusk and Saturday 9 AM - 12:30 PM.  In the Courtyard.
  • Franklin Institute Science Show: Friday afternoon. "Hot and Cold" chemistry presentation at 2 p.m. and 3:30. Turn your kids into molecules as we explore the three basic states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.  Make balloons shrink, bubbles freeze, and a rubber ball shatter - all by using liquid nitrogren. Children learn the everyday application of nitrogen in manufacturing, food production and medicine.
  • Teen Area: Ping-pong and Foosball.
  • Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Kayaking:  Friday 5:00 PM - 7:45 PM for children 10 and up.  Sponsored by Outdoor Action, limited availability; sign up for specific outing at Registration Desk. Meet at Registration Desk at 5:00 PM.
  • Showstoppers: Friday Evening.  A teen DJ and Game Show Mania.  Come test your skills on Trivia.   6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the main tent.
  • Get your face painted to look like a tiger:  Visit with the Princeton Tiger for pictures and enjoy the music of the Princeton Tiger Band.  '80 Tent on Saturday morning.  10:00 AM to Noon.
  • Movies for the kids and teens: Each Friday and Saturday evening movies will be shown in Wilcox.
  • Basketball, Swimming and Stephens Fitness Center available to all Reunions.  Hours :  Thurs 7AM to 8:45 PM;   Friday 7AM to 4:45 PM,  Saturday 10 AM to 4:45 PM, Sunday 12 PM to 5:45 PM. NOTE: Any children wishing to use the Dillion Gym -- including the basketball, weight room or pool -- must be 16 years or older to go without an adult for supervision.  All children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult that will be responsible for the children.

Details About the YMCA's TigerCamp Program

 
NOTE:  THIS IS A SEPARATE PROGRAM FROM THE ACTIVITIES ON THE CLASS OF 1980 REUNIONS SITE.  YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER BECAUSE WALK-ONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT REUNIONS.
 
The TigerCamp Day Care program is sponsored by the Princeton YWCA, and not by the University or the Class of 1980. The YWCA offers it as a safe, fun and caring environment for your younger children while you are able to enjoy the Reunion.
 
Children are divided into three age appropriate groups:
  • Infants and Toddlers (0-2 years)
  • Pre-School (3-5 years)
  • School Age Children (6-12 years)
 
Three options are available for coverage:
  • Option A:  Friday and Saturday:  6:00 PM until midnight (dinner served)
  • Option B: Friday: 6:00 PM until midnight (dinner served)
  • Option C: Saturday:  6:00 PM until  midnight ( dinner served)
 
Enrollment is limited, so act early.  The program ususally sells out by April. Here is the pricing:
  • Early Bird Registration (before April 1, 2005) @ $150 for 2 nights or $80 per night
  • Late Registration (from April 2 to April 29, 2005) @185 for 2 nights or $100 per night
  • Registration after May 2, 2005 ( based on staff availability) @ $130 per night
