The Class of 1980 Executive Committee Wants You!!

It is almost ridiculous to think about our 35th Reunion even before weve enjoyed the 30th!  Nevertheless, the time has come to begin nominating classmates for the Executive Committee serving from June 2010 through June 2015.  The Executive Committee elects Class Officers and conducts the business of the Class.

The current class leadership is looking for volunteers and suggestions of members for the next Executive Committee.  (It is a great Class of 1980 tradition to volunteer a fellow classmate!)  Potential Executive Committee members fall into two general categories:

  • Classmates interested in roles as Officers of the Class with leadership responsibilities.  These roles involve travel to Princeton at least once or twice a year as well as specific responsibilities for our relationship with the University and Alumni Council.  We have successfully shared these more time consuming volunteer roles in the past.
  • If you are looking for a role with limited travel and occasional activity, the role of Regional VP is ideal.  In this role, classmates maintain and enhance the spirit of Princeton away from the campus.  Key responsibilities include working with the regional Princeton Alumni Association to foster Class of 1980 attendance at sponsored events as well as creating local events (roughly one each year) just for classmates and their families.  We have a critical mass of classmates in the following cities:

New York (ideally separated into New York City, Northern New Jersey, Southern CT/Westchester County)

            Philadelphia

            WashingtonDC

            San Francisco

            Boston

            Los Angeles

            Baltimore

            Chicago

            Seattle

            Atlanta

            Houston

If you live in any of these areas (or know a classmate who does), are active or would like to be active with the local Princeton Alumni Association for the purpose of bringing classmates together and would enjoy organizing one event a year, THE CLASS NEEDS YOU TO HELP US CONNECT!!  Classmates married to classmates or other Princetonians are ideal for this role.

Please direct all questions and nominations to Kim Ritrievi (Co-President) at either her email or by phone 727-824-6028.  We need to hear from you by December 15, 2009 to be sure our new Executive Committee and Class Officers are in place by our Thirtieth Reunion!
